Republika Srpska Officials Boycotted the National Anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Day of the Republika Srpska Army and the Third Infantry Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces was marked in Banja Luka today.

Wreaths and flowers were laid, and the central ceremony was held at the stadium in the Kozara barracks.

And this commemoration would probably have gone almost unnoticed, if the political top of that entity had not once again demonstrated that it does not recognize a single state symbol.

In addition to the dizzyingly high salaries that numerous RS officials receive in state institutions.

Thus, they boycotted the BiH national anthem in such a way that, while it was sung, they did not want to stand up, and they stood up during the singing of the anthem of the entities.

In the Central Memorial Room, a memorial service was held for more than 23,000 soldiers who died in the last war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On behalf of the institutions of the Republika Srpska, the wreath was laid by the President of the RS Milorad Dodik, accompanied by the President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić, the Entity Prime Minister Radovan Višković and the representative of the member and chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović.

Wreaths were also laid by delegations from the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Serbian Army, delegations from the Third Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment, and numerous other representatives of institutions at the level of Republika Srpska and BiH, as well as members of associations and organizations stemming from the past war.

Dodik said that May 12, 1992 is one of the most important dates for Serbs, because it was then that the decision was made to form the Army of the Republika Srpska.

He pointed out that he is proud of the Third Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment.

“We are proud of the members of the Third Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment, which inherits and nurtures the tradition of the Army of the Republika Srpska, and also guarantees the profiling of our people and the defense potential of this system that has been created,” said Dodik.

BiH Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandar Goganović said that the Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS) preserved the Serbian people and territory.

“Freedom has no price, the Serbian people paid dearly for it in the last war, which is why the Republika Srpska and the historical memory and memory of the Army of the Republika Srpska must be preserved,” said Goganović, speaking at the central ceremony in the “Kozara” barracks.

He noted that no conflict will be the way to solve the problems in these areas, but only compromise.

31 years ago, on May 12, 1992, a decision was made to form the Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS).

The Army of the Republika Srpska was originally founded under the name of the Army of the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It existed from May 12, 1992 to January 1, 2006, after which it became part of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The military heritage and identity of the Army of Republika Srpska is nurtured by the Third Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment.
