A Strong Earthquake on the Border Between Croatia and Slovenia Was Felt in Rijeka

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded near Klana on the border of Croatia and Slovenia, which was felt in the wider Rijeka area.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded on Saturday evening near Klana on the border of Croatia and Slovenia, which was felt in the wider Rijeka area, the Seismological Service of the Republic of Croatia announced.

The Directorate of Civil Protection announced that after a fairly strong earthquake, there were no reports of damage or injured persons.

“The county center 112 Rijeka received more than 40 calls about the earthquake. There were no reports of damage or injuries,” they briefly reported.

Seismographs of the Seismological Service recorded a rather strong earthquake at 19 hours and 34 minutes, reports Hina.

The epicenter was seven kilometers north-northeast of Klana on the border between Croatia and Slovenia.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.2 degrees according to the Richter scale, and the intensity at the epicenter was estimated at degrees V-VI of the EMS scale.

The earthquake was felt in the wider Rijeka area.
